November Spotlight: CORE-Education ECE ICT PD

Naketa Ferguson and Sharon Carlson, two of CORE-Education’s ECE ICT PD facilitators, came to present at our November Spotlight meeting and gave a very interesting review of their work in early childhood centres to make increasing use of technology – be that blogging, digital storytelling or e-portfolios.

The 21 minute video below showcases the programme and also covers some of the issues experienced by staff and students at the centres:

    very interesting, we are looking at setting this in our centre.
    Question though…what program was used for the e-profiles or was it attached to the centre’s website and each child had a blog page?

    Hi Kirsty
    We have encouraged centres to use Blogger for a number of reasons.

    1) Its Free!
    2) It allows fluidity between contexts i.e. ece to primary. A life long learning portfolio rather than a context based portfolio.
    3) Very easy to use.
